ryan - cowpoke
Let me just say I blame [info]tardis80 for this. I didn't even watch American Idol. I vaguely know who these guys are, geez. It's completely ridiculous *loves it anyway*

One good thing about working from home, which I normally hate, because the zoo drives me crazy - J went out to Wawa and got me a slushie! Mmmmmmmmm blue slushie.

I find that the more blue is in a food, the more exponentially tasty it gets.

Ahhh! Porkchop! I can't staaaaand that kid, or his voice. Actually I dislike most of the people who were on the show last season, but him in particular.

mmmm, slushie. I got a snow cone maker earlier in the summer, and it's amazing. Definitely helps with my slushie cravings.

I think maybe I'm enjoying the fic BECAUSE I have no idea who they are? IDEK.

Slushies are so good. They have that mysterious carbonation factor, like soda only not.

I'm sure you've been asked this before, but I wouldn't know where to look for the answer! You need a FAQ or something, Skoosie, you're too popular.

The quotes that pop up on your journal page: how do you do that? I've got a quote on mine, but I have to go in and change it if I want a different one, whereas yours grabs a different one each time the page is loaded! I am jealous.

Re: Completely unrelated:
Oooooh, yeah. Okay, um, I helped someone else with this a few months ago, so let's see what I can remember! It'll only work with expressive layout. I can give you the code for it, but I know there's like a step in the sidebar set up. Let me see what I can dig up!

Re: Completely unrelated:
okay, let's see if this works. first, you have to set your custom text on the sidebar. I think you just set it blank, but put it in a position - mine being the first, but I don't think it matters where you place, just so long as it's there. Next, in your Advanced Customization page, Your Layers, edit your layer and put this code in the box, after everything that's already in there:

function print_module_customtext(string title, string text, string titlelink_url) {
var Page p = get_page();
open_module("customtext", $title, $titlelink_url);
print safe $*customtext_body;

# random quote script

var string[] quotes;
$quotes[0]="""blah blah text of quote, you can use HTML code in here, too""";
$quotes[1]="""blah blah text of quote""";
$quotes[2]="""blah blah text of quote""";

var int randquote;
$randquote = rand(0, ((size $quotes) - 1));

# where random quote lives
"""
$quotes[$randquote]
""";
close_module();

}

Just remember to change the quote number as you go up. I've got like 500 some listed, so the amount doesn't really matter as long as they're numbered correctly. That SHOULD work, but I might've forgotten a step, so let me know if you have any trouble!

WAWA! I love Wawa. It sucks that they don't have them here in the midwest. I miss Jersey for that.

Wawa is the best store ever. I think it might even beat out Swiss Farms for me.

No more Bartles and James for me tonight...
Random lurker posting in your livejournal. Hi. I’m gilly. I’m sitting here in my basement and being childish. I am, you see, sulking. I’m really good at it. And I’ve been trying, unsuccessfully, to cheer myself up for the last hour or so. One of the things that always seems to help is listening to your two podfics which I have on my ipod and have listened to so many times they are almost always on my “Recently Played” list. And I thought, as I often do, that it would be absolutely amazing to hear you read another one of your stories.

I’ve heard through the grapevine that a lot of authors don’t like to bother doing podfic because it takes so much time and they never get feedback with it, and while I can not make so called “free time” magically appear for you I would like to offer for you now my very belated feedback for your podfics with the hopes that someday you will have “free time” and offer me additional stories for future periods of sulk-prevention.

----

When I think of your podfics the first thing that comes to mind is “... birth robots and kittens and spindly baby unicorns” from “The World May Never Know”. I feel like your voice may very well DO that. That being birth robots and kittens and…you get the point. You just sound so HAPPY reading them and I find myself unable to do anything but be happy also and enjoy the story as much as you seem to be enjoying it. I’ve always found your bandslash to be amazing but I have to tell you that when you read the stories they do the seemingly impossible. They become better. When I read “The World May Never Know” it made me smile and coo a lot but when I listened to you say “…because the top of the bus is long and flat and boring” I spit up my milk I laughed so hard. Both your podfics have this easy going pace that makes me want to slow down and just enjoy. Sometimes listening to podfics I’ll sort of zone out and realize several minutes in that I’ve forgotten what was happening in the story but I’ve never had that problem with yours because despite how constant the pace is, how flawless, you give these great little…gee I’m not sure how to explain …little emphasis here and there vary. I love them both, and I thank you for taking the time to read, record, and post them.

-hugs, gilly

honey! Thank you so so much! Wow, that's so awesome, I love that you enjoy my voice! I always think I sound so horrible on those things :) I do really enjoy recording, but it's such a long process. Plus, I have to figure out how to pronounce Salpeter (I've got a hankering to do Mostly Products, or maybe Supersaturation!) I need to set aside some major hours, though :)

I started trolling delicious for links and some of it was SO BAD. I just wish there was more fic out there for them :)

....

“Want to help me get Frank this year?” Gerard finally asks, and Brendon turns wide eyes on him, because Brendon has never before been asked to help get Frank, not ever in the five years he’s been riding at Monroeville. That’s, like, a highly coveted job that usually falls to Pete and Gabe, because Pete and Gabe are prank masterminds. Last year they’d even gotten a girlish scream out of Frank.

Gerard just arches an eyebrow, lips still stretched up in a smile.

“Yes,” Brendon says, very, very seriously, because this is an honor, it surely is. “Yes, Gerard, I do.”
